1. Information We Collect

1.1 — Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you submit voluntarily through the Site, including:

• Calculator results & email addressWhen you complete a profit-leak calculator (e.g., skillededge.io/elec or skillededge.io/cnc) and choose to receive your results, you provide your business email address. We also capture anonymized calculator inputs (e.g., revenue range, crew size) for internal benchmarking.
• Contact form submissionsIf you contact us via any Site form, we collect your name, email address, company name, and the content of your message.
• Newsletter opt-inIf you subscribe to the Operators AI Edge newsletter, we collect your email address and subscription preferences.
• Audit engagement dataIf you engage Skilled Edge for a Profit Optimization Audit, you provide business operational data (CSV exports) per your signed agreement. That data is governed by your Audit Agreement, not this Privacy Policy.

1.2 — Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect:

• IP address and approximate geographic location (country/state level)
• Browser type, operating system, and device type
• Pages visited, time on page, and referral source
• UTM parameters and traffic source tags (e.g., email campaign, social link)

This information is collected via standard server logs and third-party analytics tools (see Section 3).

1.3 — Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

• Payment card numbers or bank account information (all payments are processed by Stripe; we receive only a transaction confirmation)
• Government-issued identification numbers
• Social Security numbers or tax identification numbers
• Sensitive personal categories such as health data, biometric data, or precise geolocation

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Delivering calculator resultsEmailing your personalized profit-leak estimate when you request it via the Site calculator.
• Newsletter deliverySending the Operators AI Edge newsletter to subscribers who have opted in.
• Sales and follow-upFollowing up with prospects who have submitted their email address via the Site, consistent with their expectations at the time of submission.
• Site analytics & improvementUnderstanding how visitors interact with the Site to improve content, calculator accuracy, and user experience.
• A/B testing & segmentationTracking which niche calculator a visitor used (electrical vs. CNC) to measure campaign performance. This uses UTM parameters and newsletter tags, not persistent tracking cookies.
• Legal & complianceRetaining records as required by applicable law or as necessary to enforce our agreements.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may receive your information as part of providing their services:

• BeehiivNewsletter platform. Email addresses submitted via Site forms or calculators are stored in Beehiiv and subject to Beehiiv’s privacy policy. Subscribers can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter.
• StripePayment processor for audit fees. Stripe collects and processes payment information directly. Skilled Edge does not receive or store payment card data. See stripe.com/privacy.
• VercelSite hosting and serverless functions. Vercel may log request data including IP addresses as part of infrastructure operations. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• Google AnalyticsSite traffic analytics. Usage data may be transmitted to Google. You can opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. See policies.google.com/privacy.
• Apollo.ioUsed for prospecting and outreach list building from publicly available sources. We do not upload personal data from Site visitors to Apollo. See apollo.io/privacy-policy.

We do not use tracking pixels, third-party advertising networks, or cross-site behavioral advertising.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

• Strictly necessary cookiesSession management required for Site functionality. These cannot be disabled without breaking the Site.
• Analytics cookiesUsed by Google Analytics to measure Site traffic. These are not required for Site functionality and may be blocked by browser settings or an ad blocker.
• UTM parametersURL query parameters (e.g., utm_source, utm_medium) appended to links in our outreach emails and social posts. Stored in Beehiiv subscriber records for campaign tracking. They are not cookies and are not persistent.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking cookies. Most browsers allow you to control or delete cookies in settings.

5. Data Retention

• Newsletter subscribers: Until you unsubscribe or request deletion
• Calculator leads (no further engagement): 12 months from collection, then deleted
• Audit CSV data: 90 days after delivery of the final Audit Report, then permanently deleted (confirmed in writing upon request)
• Site analytics data: Governed by Google Analytics’ standard retention settings (26 months by default)
• Contact form submissions: 24 months, then deleted

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• HTTPS/TLS encryption on all Site traffic
• SPF, DKIM, and DMARC email authentication on skillededge.io and all outreach domains
• Multi-factor authentication on all administrative accounts
• Encrypted file transfer for audit data submissions

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

• AccessRequest a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• CorrectionRequest that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• DeletionRequest that we delete your personal information. We will honor deletion requests unless we are required by law to retain certain records.
• Opt-out of marketingUnsubscribe from any email at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email footer, or by emailing dave@skillededge.io.
• Data portabilityRequest a machine-readable copy of your personal information where technically feasible.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:

• The right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used
• The right to delete your personal information
• The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information)
• The right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted in the Operators AI Edge newsletter if you are a subscriber. Continued use of the Site after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
